The Omen

bird pooping

I have been feeling an unusual amount of stress lately. I won't get too graphic with the details, but suffice it to say that I have been in a funk. Really since Lily was born.... but that's a whole other post or multiple posts. I have been worried about money, I have been worried about Dave, I have been worried about the kids. I worry especially about the lack of motivation I seem to feel about cleaning, among other things. I also way over-booked myself last month. So this morning I decided when I woke at 6:00 because I couldn't sleep that I would go walking. So I donned my tennies and left. I got myself all worked into a tizzy and then a felt a splat on my cheek. I thought I'm not crying what is that? Well it was bird poop. A bird pooped on my face today. Gross. I thought great, that's just great, you know kinda like icing on the cake, but not. I think it might have been an omen. I think things are going to get crappier. I sure hope not! There's my positive side, I knew I had one somewhere! (that was sarcasm) sigh. Being deficated on by a bird is about all the extra feces I can take right now.

I think the omen means it can't get any worse. Things will be looking up from here. It's a good thing. Later when you are ready to laugh about it we'll talk. Cause seriously-- bird poop on your face-- that's soooooo funny!

Gross. Things will get better. Your kids think you are wonderful and so does your mother. All your friends think you are wonderful and can do wonderful things, too. So there are more postive things to think about.

I was clicking on the "next blog" link and came across your blog. What a great and candid post. I was laughing hysterically (not at you) but the way you told the story. The picture is great too!

Oh crap! That's just what you get for keeping your chin up Melissa! Does school start for your kids soon? It does here & even though this summer was fun, it was a little busy for me. I need my downtime! Hang in there. Keep writing - you're good at it!

Reading your blog is like sitting next to you in relief society all over again - :) You are so funny and such a good writer. I can just hear your voice in what you write. We should get together sometime - or at least chat on the phone. Time gets away from me and it's been way too long since we caught up. :)
